Lemon juice can bring great flavour 🙂
You need,
- Potato – 3 medium boiled and skinned and cubed
- Frozen Green peas – 1/2 cup
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Chana dal – 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Onion – 1 medium finely chopped
- Green chilies – 3 chopped
- Curry leaves of 1 string
- Coriander powder – 2 tbsp
- Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp squeezed
- salt to taste
- Water – 1/2 cup to 1 cup
- Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp
You have to
- Heat oil in a pan in a medium flame, add mustard seeds and allow to pop
- Add cumin seeds,urad dal,chana dal and fry for a 10-20 sec(the dal color will turn light brown)
- Add curry leaves , green chillies, onions and fry till translucent,
- Add turmeric and corriander powder saute for few seconds
- Add peas and fry, add potato and mash it a bit with the spoon
- Add water and mix well. Allow to boil to form a thick gravy consistency
- Add garam masala, salt and cover it and cook for 2 mins in medium to low flame.
- Add the lemon, add coriander leaves and mix
- Serve with chappathi or dosa or roti or rice or chappathi or poori.
Note: Green peas is optional
