Ari payasam or Easy Saffron flavored rice sweetened with jaggery

Yesterday it was Karkidaka Vavu. I made this as an offering.

You need,
Basmati rice – 1/4 cup
Water – 1/4 cup
Skimmed milk – 1 cup + 1/4 cup
Saffron Strands – 10 nos
Jaggery – 2 tbsp crused (half of a small block)


You have to,
1. Wash and drain the rice
2. Pressure cook rice, water and 1 cup skimmed milk for 2 whistles.
3. Once the pressure is gone, open the lid and add jaggery
4. Add remainig milk and boil in slow to medium flame.
5. Once the jaggery is melted add saffron strands and boil for further 5 min.

6. Serve warm.

    really tasty..This looks delicious! I LOVE sausage pizza too! We move out to the PNW from the mid west (sausage capital) and no one here makes just sausage pizza – so weird! It's THE only pizza to satisfy that craving for us!Pizza Equipment
