With excitement to meet fellow bloggers I reached the restaurant. This restaurant is situated in Lagoona Mall in west bay area. I should admit I wasn’t much excited about the food part. Doaa was already there along with couple of new faces. The restaurant ambience looked quite different. Instead of Bright lights it was dim purple lights which gave the vibe of a fine dine restaurant.
There was huge screen on the wall which was displaying the pictures of the food they offer. Seating was comfortable. We all sat around a long table which was arranged for our group
The menu was placed on the table. Before visiting the restaurant, I have the checked the menu to get an idea. I was happy to see the sea food burger in the menu. But something which bothered me was how I am going to taste the whole list. The size of the burgers are generally big.
We were served fizzy Strawberry motto. They served this refreshing juice in a jar mug. That was impressive..
Meantime remaining bloggers joined in and we got introduced to each other. Starters were served. One side of the platter had a salad which was a tiny bowl of rocket leaves in balsamic vinegar topped with a thin toast with pesto, cherry tomatoes and shallots. For bite, it was goat cheese croquettes, crispy prawn, southern fried chicken. All of the 3 bites were crispy and flavorsome.
Another appetizer served was “Firehouse fries”. (This wasn’t in the menu) Thick Potato fries topped with cheddar, lettuce, cream and underneath was spicy beans. It was tasty.. As I generally don’t prefer much spicy food, I dint try more.
Then came in the “black and white experience” . It was a black seafood burger…plated next to spicy fried burger.. Though tasty I could just eat a bite of the spicy fried burger. This deep fried burger had a layer of cheese and jalapenos. It was bit spicy for me. But what stole my heart was the black seafood burger. It was absolute yum. Black burger is a squid ink bun with a sea food slider. This is something I will definitely try again.
Following b/w experience a mess came in. It is named a big mess. A tall but tiny mess as the portions in our menu is small.I have to admit this was a yummy burger. It was served with curly crispy potato fries.
Later Chef Navin explained the secret behind these tasty burgers. The burgers they serve are prepared fresh in the kitchen. They get the best quality meat and it is minced and seasoned in house.
The last serve before the dessert was Crispy foiegras burger with a red pepper relish, barbecue sauce and a small chuck of pineapple. I am not a fan of foiegras so I had a bite and waited for the most important platter
Finally the dessert platter arrived. It was Chocolate brownie, caramel coconut cheese cake and strawberry ice cream on sugared almond flakes. Yum yum yum. I enjoyed the every bite of this platter and my favorite was the caramel coconut cheese layer in the cheese cake.
Meet Chef Navin and Chef Manikandan
While leaving we got gift box from Chocolate House 🙂
I truly enjoyed the dinner and loved my visit to burger gourmet…I don’t mind paying a bit extra for good quality burgers….Unexpected platters with variety of flavors..
