This is one of the popular dish in Kerala. One of the major ingredient in sadya. It can be refrigerated upto a week.
You need,
Curd- 1 cup
Salt -to taste
Water – 1/4 cup
To grind
Coconut -1/4 cup
Cumin seed – 1/4 tsp
Red chili – 1 no
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Green chilli – 1
garlic – 1 tiny clove or 1/4 tsp chopped
fenugreek powder – 1/4 tsp
For seasoning
Mustard seed – 1 tsp
Red chili – 1 no
Curry leaves of 1 string
Oil – 2 tsp
Shallots – 2 sliced thinly
You have to,
1. Grind the ingredients to a smooth paste. If required add 2-3 tbsp water.
2. Blend the curd ,water and salt using mixer or blender.
3. Add the grinded paste to the yogurt and mix well
4. Warm the mix in medium to low heat. dont allow to boil
5. Heat oil in a sauce pan ,add the mustard seeds, when they started spluttering,add the red chilli, shallots and curry leaves let it saute for some time till the shallots turn golden brown.
6. Now add the coconut mixture into it.
7. Stir well and remove from fire.
8. Serve with rice.
