When it was time for my little darling’s birthday I decided to make it special. It is her first birthday. The planning started well ahead.
We focused on 2 things when we started planning. The function should be on day time so that baby M could have some fun. Indoor or Outdoor the venue should be bright and filled with natural light.
Theme : Spring floral is one of the best and gorgeous theme you could choose for first birthday of baby girls.
Venue : We shortlisted one of my favorite outdoor venue for the garden party. But we had to skip the idea at the end, as there was a small concern about the weather. We chose Indian Coffee House (ICH) as the venue. They serve authentic delicacies of Kerala (South India). And the party hall they have is bright and it is perfect for a day party.
Invitation Card: My first plan was to make an invitation by myself. But when birthday baby’s Mamma is one of the party planner, it is tough. So we downloaded a floral wreath from shutterstock and baby M’s Daddy did rest of the job.
We got helium filled Golden number balloon and pastel shade balloons. ICH did rest of the balloon decoration (part of the package) at the venue, which actually helped the venue to look pretty
For floral decoration I used only Baby breath flowers. I personally like these flowers, as it can stand out elegantly without being a filler in the flower arrangement. So I put few branches in tiny baby food bottles and it looked pretty.
Initially I bought the Monogram letter for baby M’s nursery from Angel Bunny Store , and it become one of the decor for the party
I also placed a small clock keeping the time as One o’clock
Chalk board Birthday Poster is one of the trend these days and I really wanted one for her birthday. But I din’t want to print it. What I need was the original version. We got the black board from Jarir book store. Seena , our friend and a professional paint artist helped writing it pretty on the board.
Insta frame for photo booth was an idea suggested by my husband. He did the layout design for the frame. The base frame was purchased from Jarir book store and we got the sticker printed through an Advertising Agency.
This is a lovely thought which we came across Internet. We have mentioned a note in the invitation card asking them to write a letter to baby Megha. We received few handwritten letters. Now I just need to collect the letters from her grand parents and cousins. Then it will be sealed in a box. The box will be given to her on her 15th birthday.
As I was too busy with the preparations, Gops came forward helping me baking all the cakes. I made honey cinnamon custard for filling and vanilla buttercream for the frosting. The cake was decorated with fresh flowers and Olive leaves. Cake topper is custom made by Egrave. Cake stand is from Fabindia
Call me a rag collector. I like to collect empty glass bottles. When I started buying baby food, what excited me more was the cute bottles. I washed and kept aside good number of bottles for this plan. I filled roasted coffee bean in those tiny bottles. Then printed few labels and pasted on top of the lid.
Craft kits for kids were from the unique craft store The Craft Safari. I just to had wrap them pretty. Well, did you know newspapers make great gift wrappers ?? 🙂
Few gifts were copper coated chime from The Craft Safari
And there were few baby books as well..
