Lot of concerns in my mind. What was the mentality of those people when they were hurting that girl so badly. What kind of mindset they must be having at that moment. Or is that a way to express their anger? Dint they ever thought that they have a mother or a sister at home? Or is it the mistake of the parent, that they dint tell their son, that they should respect a woman, when they told the girl to be careful.
Blaming the security wont help. LAW. If people doing such crime can walk freely in the public, it will surely invoke or create a mind set, that they can do anything. I won’t say people should fear God. But at least they should fear the law. But we don’t have such law to punish those brutal.
Why a girl is not secure. At home, at school, at college in a bus in a train. Let it be an infant or a old lady, all are insecure. We don’t know what is happening behind a closed door. It can be a wife or a sister or a daughter. Some have the courage to shout loudly and some are not. Many are scared of being insulted by the cops or the society or the family. Who will support them
Blaming law or changing the law may not help. I wont say all the men are like this. But definitely some are. I am really scared. I have my niece growing up. One after another the such incidents are flashing on all news channels. How will these impact the kids who are watching the TV at home? How long we can keep the TV off or change the channel or ask them to go to another room. We need to educate the younger generation. I am not a mother. Or is it a different thought for a mother?
Good post Manjoo, I'm glad you wrote down your feelings! It was a terrible act and whether you are a mom or not, being a woman it was terribly disturbing. Even I couldnt get over it for many days!
Nice post , very rarely people will react to things like this. Hearing the incident repeatedly one after another made me to sit at home rather than going for work . When can a women be safe ? Will it ever happen?
